Reading Danny Sullivan’s post about the “Living URLs”, I think we could have both:
- Dated posts that are not updated (or marginally);
- Pages that are constantly updated with the freshest facts and perspectives.
We can have both.

RE: Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) a sub-set of Search Engine Marketing (SEM)?
Danny Sullivan seems to have one king category (“search marketing”) with 2 sub-categories (“SEO” and “paid search”). He has a separate category for “link building”, which I would put into SEO.
