Does Google punish the publishers of the Text Link Ads network?
Google Webmaster Central:
Since we hear this question again and again: Yes, we [do] consider buying links via [Text Link Ads] http://tinyurl.com/39epw3 and similar services as spam.
I suppose that, were those links be disclosed to the readers and structured as “no-follow” links, they would be OK.
PageRank used in assessing brand strength.
