Both are very likable persons and both of them are formidable speakers. I spent countless hours watching their conference videos posted on YouTube. However, there is something that I remark: They each tried to start up an Internet company (AllTop for Guy Kawasaki and Squidoo for Seth Godin), and, in my view, none of them created a remarkable Internet service. Somehow, those 2 great men failed at applying their own principles. Al Gore did create the Internet (
), Sergey Brin and Larry Page did finesse the Internet, but the history book will forget about Guy Kawasaki and Seth Godin. Something went wrong —what? They probably did not listen enough to experts outside of their circle of friends. They did not tap enough the wisdom of crowds.
